Our children and youth
At New Covenant Fellowship Church we believe that children are a gift from God and therefore we need to care for them effectively. As the Psalmist writes, “Children are a heritage from the Lord; offspring a reward from him.” [Ps 127:3].
Our kids’ church
We are passionate about our children having good teaching which they can apply to their home, school and everyday life. Each Sunday morning, our children stay with us for the worship and family news, and then we provide exciting, fun and bible based teaching for children in separate rooms to help them grow in their walk with God. This teaching is not only to know about God, but helps them to know Him personally, to experience Him, and to be able to live out their lives in the knowledge of God and the power of His Holy Spirit.
We have three classes [a nursery style group for babies and toddlers to play, primary and secondary school aged groups] so that the teaching and learning can be age specific and relevant. Termly events take place throughout the year for the young people to engage outside of church hours.
Our youth are very much part of the fellowship here. We love them and aim to help them find Jesus and to equip them to make a great and positive impact on society.
They meet on Fridays to have fellowship and discussions in a safe, free and loving environment. The aim is to get to know each other well, grow as friends and love each other’s company, whilst inspiring, challenging and encouraging each other to find out more about the God in whom we have faith, to walk more closely with Jesus in the power of His Holy Spirit, and to discuss real life issues we face as young people trying to serve Jesus.
Our monthly youth led service
On the first Sunday each month our 6.30 pm evening service is led by our youth. Here, we enable young people to come and join us as we worship God through song and other areas where they have gifts, and create an environment where our young people have an opportunity to have responsibility and begin serving in different areas in the church and to be part of a team. As well as worshipping through song and other gifts, there are games, times of fun and various activities, followed by a talk specifically relevant to young people today.
‘We Are’ (young adults)
‘We Are’ is a group for those in their 20s-30s, seeking to go deeper in their faith. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month for a mixture of fellowship, teaching, discussions and films, as well as social gatherings. We seek to bring truth from the bible into our everyday lives and grow in our understanding of who we are.
